"Remembrance Day provides us with the opportunity to recognise our servicemen and women and acknowledge the extraordinary sacrifices they make for us," Charles said.
"It is a time to reflect on the courage and heroism of Australian servicemen and women throughout the 20th century and the present day.
"As a gesture of respect and appreciation, the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is assisting war veterans, their families and current Australian Defence Force with the provision of free public transport to allow them to get to and from Remembrance Day ceremonies on Friday," Charles said.
"CityRail, Sydney Ferries and services offered by metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses will allow free travel for existing Australian Defence Force personnel, war veterans and their widows or widowers if they are in uniform, wearing medals or have a letter from their local RSL branch.
"I encourage all local veterans and current servicemen and women to take up this opportunity and travel to Remembrance Day commemoration services by public transport on Friday," Charles said.
