Sydney Water will be repairing a large above ground concrete wastewater pipe, which runs across private properties in Enfield.

This work is part of Sydney Water's SewerFix program to improve the wastewater system and protect public health and the environment.

From mid June 2012, Sydney Water's contractor, Kembla Watertech Pty Ltd, will start repairing the pipe. Activities involve:

• inspecting maintenance holes

• constructing maintenance holes in Stiles Street (on the pipe) and the Flower Power site

• inspecting and cleaning the pipe

• removing and replacing the pipe's concrete cover

• installing a structural liner inside the pipe

• restoring affected work areas.

Work will be done over a period of about four months, weather permitting. Activities will involve working on private properties in Mitchell, Portland and Stiles Streets and the Flower Power site. We will be in contact with all directly affected residents and Flower Power management before our work begins, and other impacted residents will be notified about the work.

Work hours are generally 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. Some residents may notice an increase in noise, odour and vehicle movements during the work. Appropriate safety and environmental controls will be in place at all times. There will be no disruptions to wastewater or water services.
